Snow!!!

So I admit I'm not the best at this blogging thing. Here are some pics of Sam and the kids sledding after it had snowed. Things are great at our house. We are very excited for the new year.................
for those who went to school with me. Look at Darion (smallest kid) in the Rhino, he is a spit image of Heath Hunnington! That kid cracks me up.

Raiders Vs. Broncos

It's a tradition that we go to Denver once a year and catch a Chiefs and Broncos game (Sam's brother is a Chiefs fan). So, When Sam said we were going to a football game for my birthday I was really excited. As we were putting on our Denver gear Sam gave me the pep talk about Raider fans and how you just have to keep your mouth shut. Thinking nothing I agreed and we headed to the game. I HAVE NEVER SEEN WORSE FANS IN MY LIFE!!! We had people coming up and screaming volgarity at us 2 inches from our face. I tried to take some pictures but everytime I got the good ole middle finger. People were being arrested left and right. We saw a little 8 year old boy wathcing his dad get arrested. It truly was the sickest feeling. There was a guy sitting in front of us that was chewing and everytime a Bronco fan walked by he would throw his cup of spit on them. I told Sam I've never had a better birthday present (NOT!!!) Good thing the Denver Broncos blew them away. Most of the obnoxious fans left early. On a lighter note we had great seat.

The raiders have very passionate fans. These were a few guys sitting by us. I asked him if I could take a picture for my kids and he said sure. I thought the double middle finger was a great gesture for the kids. lol...seriously they need a life.
This is Sam on the way back from the game. We were so exhausted "watching our backs".

We saw this homeless guy on the Wharf in S.F. I couldnt resist the picture. Dont you think he had better things to worry about.

This guy was pretty cool. He really had something wrong with his eye so it made him look like a pirate. someone in our area was smokin some good stuff and every once in a while we would get an aroma of weed. I'm seriously still in shock over my little experience.

Despite the fact, we had great seat behind the Denver bench and really enjoyed the game. Here are a couple pictures of Cutler. He had a great game!!

Napa & Sonoma Valley

So Sam and I took a much needed vacation to the the coast hitting the wine country and San Francisco. Minus always being car sick the valleys were beautiful. We spent three days in Santa Rosa. It was great. I'm posting a few pictures but i'm horrible about getting them in the right order.
This is Sam and I at Sterling Winery. You have to take ski lifts (lack of a better word) up to the top of a mountain where the winery sits. It was so pretty. We took Sunday and drove down the west coast. On our way we stop in the Red Wood forrest. It was so cool.
I love this picture because it doesnt matter how much time you give Sam to regroup he always looks like a cornholio in pictures. This one is special because I finally got his eyes open.

This was at the castle winery (i'm so bad i couldnt remember the names). We had a great group and lots of laughs. On our way up the coast or down I cant remember We stopped by the ocean and read The Last Lecture together. It was a great story if you havent read it.
This was our little picnic that we packed down to the ocean. We mostly fed it to the seagulls.

I love watching Sam's face when he is talking or thinking. You can tell exactly what he is going to say with his expressions. He was knee deep in a story. I think he was just checking to see if I was listening.

This is a castle (winery) that lookes extremely old but had only been completed a year ago. It took 11 years to build. Pretty amazing.
This is a truck load of grapes they were taking to crush. Its actually a very interesting process. We were lucky to hit Napa at their picking season.

Did anyone watch the game?

Wondering if anyone caught the beach volley ball game on Sunday? Misty May and Kerri Walsh lost their first game in 112 games. I was totally crushed!!!

Olympics!!!

I keep telling Sam that I might have to quit my job for two weeks because I'm so into the Olympics. I don't think I have watched this much tv in years. The volleyball players are my favorite. I love the way they play the game. Misty May is such a good digger yet she can hit the ball harder than anyone I've ever seen. I'm embarrassed to say I look rediculous watching the games. I am one that is starting to yell and pretend i'm helping while i'm on the couch. Way to go USA.

All I can truly say is Michael Phelps is the most amazing person. I love his story. Its amazing what he has been able to accomplish. It's hard to not notice but he has the most amazing body on anyone i've ever seen. I think he even gives David Beckham a run for his money. I love that he was able to hit all of his goals and bring home the gold for the USA!!

Boys at the bus stop.
Every Thursday they do a street fair where they sell nic nacs and food. There is a band and it's nice to walk around and enjoy outside. Here the boys are having lunch.

Last Week in Minnesota!

Boys will be boys!
Logan and Jake working on their painting project.
August is very passionate about this!
Logan and August outside the University Mall
August couldn't get enough of this slide.

This is our last week in Minnesota. Although I think we are all ready to be home I am sure going to miss the forever green. Logan has completed a month of intense therapy and has gone from studying words up to a week to being able to say them after 2 or 3 tries. He is learning words like suspicious, Episcopal, presentation, specific. They have him focusing a lot on the s and sh words. He truly is a special blessing in our families lives. I can't imagine life without him.

August has been a trooper to tag along with us walking miles a day and sitting in many waiting rooms. He is a charmer and everyone that meets him thinks he is the cutest thing on earth. Him and Logan work really good with each other. Sam promised to help them make go karts when they get home and they are going to hold him to it.

Being back here seeing the sickest of the sick kids makes you wonder if you are fulfilling your calling on this earth. I sometimes don't know if i'm doing enough for the people in need around me. I always use the excuse that I don't have spare time but if you look into these kids eyes you would make time if you wanted to.

Well anyhow, here are several pictures taken throughout the week. I hope you enjoy.

TGIF

We have been looking forward to Friday all week. Dr. Ruth was taking us go-kart racing. We had an early 8:30 appt and after we finished we worked hard on our 10 pages of phonics books before we could go. We had a blast and although Natalie and August won the first time around, the second time they got stuck with a put-put car that put them in fourth place. Logan won the 2nd round. I dont know if he was breathing at all he was having such a good time. At 6pm Dr. Eddie invited us and another family over to her house for Famous Daves takeout (Sam is probably so jelous). We had a great time playing activities out on her lawn. We saw a new thing for the first time Fireflies!!!!!! We don't get to see them where we come from. Here are a few pics.
